What's included

The whole job, in one price

No "plus electrical", no second contractor, no separate callout to finish the wiring off. One quote, one day, one tradesman.

  • A site visit before the price. We measure the room and look at the wall, the pipe run and the switchboard, then quote.
  • The unit supplied. Sized to the room and sourced from the brand that suits the job and the budget.
  • Indoor and outdoor units mounted. Brackets, feet, levels, vibration isolation.
  • Refrigeration pipework run and ducted. Nitrogen-purged, pressure tested and vacuumed before charging.
  • Condensate drained properly. Piped away, not left to run down the wall.
  • The electrical work. Dedicated circuit, isolator, and any switchboard work needed, all under the same EWRB registration.
  • Certificate of Compliance. Issued for the prescribed electrical work, for your records and your insurer.
  • Warranty registered for you. Installed to the manufacturer's spec and registered on completion, so it is valid when you need it.
  • Commissioned and demonstrated. Tested, then we show you how to actually run it economically.
  • Site left clean. Off-cuts, packaging and core drilling dust go with us.
Sizing

The single thing most installs get wrong

Heat pump capacity is not a floor-area lookup. It depends on the volume of the room, how well it is insulated, how much glazing it has, which way it faces and whether the room opens onto the rest of the house.

Undersize it and the unit runs flat out on the hottest and coldest days, never quite gets there, and costs you more every month it runs. Oversize it and it short-cycles (blasting, stopping, blasting again), which leaves the room clammy and wears the compressor out early.

We measure the space, ask what the room is used for and when, and size the unit to that. It is fifteen minutes on site and it is the difference between a heat pump you are happy with and one you resent.

Why Kocev Services

One tradesman, both trades

Most heat pump installers have to bring an electrician in, or leave the electrical part to you. That's the second booking, the second callout, and the gap where the job stalls.

Registered electrician and HVAC installer

EWRB registration #119850, practising licence EE 069268, Site Safe registered. The refrigeration and the wiring are the same person, on the same day.

Engineer, not just an installer

A Bachelor's in Industrial Power Engineering and Automation (NZQA Level 7) and Engineers New Zealand ET Practical recognition, on top of 20+ years on the tools.

Fixed price, quoted upfront

You get the number in writing before any work begins. The number you agree to is the number on the invoice.

Owner on the tools

Dimce does the work himself. The person who quotes it is the person who installs it and the person who answers the phone afterwards.

Sized properly

Volume, insulation, glazing and aspect, not floor area off a chart. The wrong size costs you every month it runs.

Warranty registered for you

Installed to the manufacturer's spec and registered on completion, so it's valid the day you need to use it.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they book

How much does heat pump installation cost in Auckland?

What moves the number is the capacity the room needs, the brand you choose and how long the pipe run is. We measure the room and look at the wall, the pipe run and the switchboard before we put a number on it, and that number is fixed in writing before work starts. The quote is free, and what it covers is set out above.

What size heat pump do I actually need?

It depends on the volume of the room, its insulation, how much glazing it has and which way it faces, not just floor area. Undersized units run flat out and cost more to run; oversized ones short-cycle and leave the room clammy. We measure the space and size the unit to it before we quote.

How long does the installation take?

A standard back-to-back high wall install is usually a single day. Longer pipe runs and multi-room systems take longer. We tell you the expected timeframe when we quote, not on the day.

Do you supply the heat pump, or do I buy it?

We supply and install Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Daikin, Panasonic, Toshiba and Haier, and recommend the one that suits the room and the budget. If you've already bought a unit we'll install that too. Just be aware the manufacturer's warranty terms are then between you and whoever sold it.

Is the electrical work included in the price?

Yes. Kocev Services is an EWRB registered electrician as well as an HVAC installer, so the dedicated circuit, the isolator and any switchboard work are all part of the same quote and the same day. Prescribed electrical work is tested and certified, and you get a Certificate of Compliance.

Can I get a Warmer Kiwi Homes grant towards it?

Possibly. The EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes programme covers most of the cost of an approved heat pump in your main living area, up to the cap EECA sets, for owner-occupiers of homes built before 2008 who hold a Community Services Card or SuperGold Combo Card, or live in a lower-income area. Grant installs have to be done by an EECA-approved provider, so check your eligibility with EECA on 0800 749 782 first.

Do you service heat pumps you didn't install?

Yes. Servicing, repairs, fault finding and preventive maintenance on existing systems of any brand are a big part of what we do.

Which parts of Auckland do you cover?

All of it. We're based in Northcross on the North Shore and install Auckland-wide: Central Auckland, North Shore, Rodney and Waitākere, and further for the right job. If you're not sure, call and ask.
